This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of a man battling supernatural creatures inside a reality-shifting motel. Players use pistols, shotguns, and machine guns to kill waves of fantasy enemies (e.g., werewolves, ghouls, vampires). Players can use stakes to stab enemies up close; players can also trigger slow-motion/bullet-time skills for more precise aiming. Combat can be fast-paced at times, highlighted by frequent gunfire, splashes of blood, and cries of pain. Some levels depict hostages/non-adversaries that are menaced by enemies; players can choose to save or kill these hostages, though the game does not encourage their killing. The word “f**k” appears in the game.
