Prázdniny s Broučkem

Die Reise ist das Ziel… Eine angenehme Sommerkomödie für die ganze Familie, die niemanden beleidigen kann. Barbora Poláková und Lukáš Příkazký habe ich vor Jahren in einem sehr witzigen Theaterstück gesehen und sie haben sehr gut zusammengepasst. Das gilt auch heute für diesen Film. (05.05.2024)

I thought this could be the perfect film for an open-air cinema. That’s the place where I lower my standards each year, catch up on the latest quirky Czech productions, enjoy the atmosphere, and most importantly, watch a film with an authentic audience. And it almost worked, but as is often the case in summer, rain threatened the screening. So, after the first fifteen minutes, I still had a positive impression. I saw a nice dynamic between Barbora Poláková and Lukáš Příkazký, and a pleasant return of Pavel Zedníček. But when I watched the rest at home, it all fell apart. As a whole, it doesn’t work, and it’s such a shame. The village sketches have neither a beginning nor an end, the children's adventures are completely emotionless, and it’s not cohesive. And yet it would have taken so little... it could have been a truly enjoyable summer experience. But as always, Czech cinema lacks quality dramaturgy. (28.09.2024)
