The four movie stories create a mosaic of destinies of several married and cohabitating couples who, at certain turning points in their lives, deal with the questions of wanted, unwanted, longed-for and unsuccessful parenthood. The screenwriter and director Alice Nellis aims to show, by telling concurrent stories, that the problem of modern parenthood is broader and deeper than any particular situation of any of the characters. This Czech number one director comes again with a story that may touch the viewers regardless of their age or standing. Each of the stories of the long for a child, the fatal decision whether to have a child or not, or the effort to cope with the life traps can be a story of yours. (Verleiher-Text)

It of course makes sense if the whole team around Nellis was involved, i.e., that it drew them all into a narrative about the different forms of parenthood. However, the way they dealt with this period of their lives is almost unwatchable. ()
This is a film where serious and sensitive topics are discussed, but I couldn't help but watch the individual characters and not really care what they were going through. I couldn't really connect with any of them. This isn't very good for a nearly two-hour film that is supposed to get to you simply through the psychology of the characters and the emotions involved. Four stories, four different takes on life, but none of them were more interesting than the stack of papers I had to sort through while watching. Honestly, I was glad to have something else to do during the movie. Sure, it touched on important issues, but with characters that felt flat and lifeless, and a total lack of energy, it didn’t give me anything to latch onto—even if there had been smoke signals pointing the way.
