Mrs. Endrényi, an old woman in Old Buda learns that her house is going to be demolished and she is going to get a new apartment. Since she would like her family members to have the same advantage, she takes them in her apartment. So every man in need of a flat tries to get near the mother, daughter, granddaughter and decide to propose to them. The apartment-surveyor, Néveri Kálmán wins Emmike's hand. It is only after the wedding that he learns that the house will not be demolished until five years later.
