I think everyone will have their own opinion about this movie. Mine is probably that I used to laugh a lot while watching it, especially when the neighbors were making fun of each other. Now I find the movie quite unoriginal, and in the second half, it falls into a terrible, "creative" mess and it's not what it used to be. However, Iva Janžurová always wins me over, whether I want it or not. :-) ()
I don't consider Petr Schulhoff to be the best director, but the leitmotif of this comedy is (unfortunately) so grounded in reality that I have to applaud it. Our family's story is also marked by the move from the city center to a housing estate... ()
I’m very surprised at the fairly low rating. I think it’s one of the best old Czech comedies. ()
Some films are timeless, and some of them age over time. In the second half of the 70s, marked by normalization and taboo subjects, this film was significantly above-average due to both the reliably functioning theme of criticism of "petty bourgeois leftovers of the socialist man" and its well-chosen cast. The central quartet of quarreling neighbors has a certain charm even today, as well as some jokes and maliciousness that the married couples enjoy. Even Luděk Sobota has one of the few acting roles where he does not overact, and his acting is functional. But what can you do, it is already an outdated film by today's standards. Overall impression: 55%. ()
