Biography
From his early start in the camera department Sam McCurdy quickly learnt that Cinematography was to be his calling. Having braved the new technologies in Cinematography Sam has found himself to be one of the most sought after young Cinematographers.
Following both critical and commercial success with THE DESCENT Sam found himself in great demand for many genre movies and his move to studio work with HILLS HAVE EYES II and DOOMSDAY firmly put his name on the charts.
With the move to new technologies in DIGITAL and also in 3D, Sam embraced both, and suddenly found his talents working to great effect with the box Office sensations in STREETDANCE 3D 1 and STREETDANCE 3D 2 which became huge international box office hits.
Sam became a member of the BSC in 2008. With nominations and awards for his work on productions such as GAME OF THRONES and DEVILS DOUBLE, Sam has cemented his place as one of the most versatile and adaptable Cinematographers around.
