An excellent atmospheric road movie, in many ways even better and more interesting than the more famous Hitcher. Endless desert roads lined with only a few abandoned motels, properly bleak cinematography and minimalist production design that relies solely on the performances of the two leading actors. And all this wrapped in an interesting theme of a mass murderer and a "rich" robber. Eric Roberts clearly enjoys his psychopathic role, but, as usual, it's the traditionally charismatic Henriksen who dominates the film as an actor and is also given more space. A small, but proper thriller with capital T. 80% ()
