The Sons of the Harpy (S05E04)

Basically, a Mereen episode that, if not directly set in the city, at least has one storyline around Daenerys (the hostages Tyrion, Jorah, etc). The only major sequence outside is the one where Melisandre does a gala performance in Castle Black. In Mereen itself, however, things are incredibly heated, and in the fifth season, surprisingly, religion, or rather religious sects, speak a lot. Some people may like this embellishment, others may prefer pragmatism. The final battle is brilliant, the first major action scene of the season was worth it. (2017-06-01)

Given my absolute disdain for religious fanatics of any kind, I've never found Jonathan Pryce more repulsive in a role. The Dornish adventure turned out to be as disappointing as I feared, and the situation in Meereen left me puzzled. Who exactly are the Unsullied supposed to be? The best soldiers? If so, this episode must have been some parody that completely went over my head. (2017-12-15)
