Mika is angry. She failed her final exams and she and her best friend Fanny accidentally set her teacher's car on fire! Now her parents cancel the planned summer camp. Instead Mika is sent to the countryside to stay with her strict grandmother who runs a stable. Though Mika has never cared for horses in her life, she doesn't want to spend all summer locked up studying or working under the instructions of stable-boy Sam. But then she finds the wild and skittish stallion Windstorm. No one has managed to tame this ferocious beast. Despite the danger, Mika is magically drawn to the fearful animal and sneaks into the stallions stall. Thus ignites an unusual friendship and the discovery of a new talent: She can communicate with horses! But will she manage to tame Windstorm? (Zlín Film Festival)

Windstorm and Mika are both outsiders in their own way, united by their natural unbridledness and desire for freedom. A troubled girl and an almost untamable horse are brought together by fate, and this encounter changes both their lives. While the film doesn't offer as strong a story as, for example, Black Beauty, it doesn't offend and, for the most part, passes quickly. In addition to the captivating nature shots and beautiful horses, the film offers a pleasing soundtrack and many lessons for life. ()
