Tamás Péter painter makes modern paintings, but he leads a conservative life. A girl, Júlia rushes in his room. She keeps her identity and the reason of her coming in secret, and leaves in an equally queer way, through the balcony. A chase is on for the girl who is sought by her rich family members. For the painter everything remains mysterious but he finds the woman more an more charming. He receives a bag with jewellery, it disappears and he suspects robbery. The bag is the family wealth of the girl and her elder brother, but their guardian cannot give out it until their marriage. Júlia marries Péter in name only. Péter loves Júlia, but realizing her motives throws her out. Finally the doctor next door makes up between the grudging lovers. (official distributor synopsis)
