Neither particularly good, nor particularly bad. The opening scene doesn't hit anything until the end, but it can be watched without much harm or feeling of boredom, or perhaps shame. And you don't even have to be sorry that you don't understand computers and hacking, because what happens in the film has little to do with reality anyway. ()
Dumb, with no script and the only interesting scene is right at the beginning. On the other hand, thanks to the cast, it goes by quite quickly. As an undemanding one-off respite after a busy day, it fulfils its purpose to a tee. But if you are looking for something more in this film, you would be very disappointed. ()
This is not a good movie, as accurately depicted in the opening coffee sequence by John Travolta. However, the visuals are so great that it doesn't completely deserve to be written off. It's a typically far-fetched story without a shred of realism, which unfortunately is also lacking in the most important moments, the computer manipulations. Paul Oakenfold sounds beautiful, the yellowish filters look good, and the action flows pleasantly. Add to that the classy outfits and impressive visual effects, and it becomes a treat with a big screen and a proper sound system. Otherwise, it's probably quite difficult to watch. ()
This movie simply has a magic about it. Even I could probably manage to hack into the FBI, but that’s not important. John Travolta reels out wisecracks one after another, Hugh Jackman plays an ultra nasty man here while not coming across (too) ridiculous and Halle Berry, ha, showed more than I was bargaining for. Plus the soundtrack is superb. At the time I adored this movie. ()
Dominic Sena made a decent action film without being able to rely on a good script. Granted, he was helped a lot by a more than decent cast, but even though I had a relatively decent time, I don't see a reason to watch this film a second time. ()
