A kindergarten teacher invents a car that runs on human blood to combat high gas prices in BLOOD CAR, a horror/comedy from first time director Alex Orr. In the first feature film from Fake Wood Wallpaper Films, narrative conventions and predictable, by-the-book plotlines are left behind in favor of an absurdist look at a future in which no one drives due to $40-a-gallon gasoline prices. Both a satire on our voracious habit for oil as well as a cleverly structured horror film. Special bonus features include commentary with director Alex Orr, stars Mike Brune and Kate Rowlett, behind-the-scenes and a featurette. (official distributor synopsis)

I had trouble finishing it. Awfully boring and pointless bollocks. One star for the black humorous way they dispatch the dog and the squirrel. I really don’t understand those people who give above-average ratings to unfunny crap like this. ()
A gallon of gasoline costs thirty-six dollars, so even firefighters have to walk to fires when a young teacher invents a blood-powered engine. He is the only one in the world who drives a car, so every woman wants to sleep with him, preferably in the car and while driving. The idea is crazy, but that's the least of it. The rest is amateurishness that falls into a completely different dimension of thinking. At times it's a home video for a friend's VHS party, at times it's filtered and visually celebrant like Greengrass. Thematically, it oscillates between comedy and serious agitation for political-ecological change. But it's all mostly just an awkward attempt to be cool & funny and the result is what you’d expect. I can safely say that this is, so far, the worst film I have ever seen in my life. Unbelievable shit! ()
