Kim (Krysten Ritter) ends up having unprotected sex with a guy she meets one night after her friend Deena (Kate Bosworth) uses the last condom in their house. A year later Kim is a single mother to her son Max (Zachary Ross/Connor Ross) and is still living with Deena and their friend Laura (Rachel Bilson). As a mother Kim struggles to find romance so when she meets Nicholas (Geoff Stults) and they hit it off she pretends that Max isn't her child. But the truth is sure to come out eventually.
