The Invisible Thread does not have a particularly original premise – I liked the relationship crisis of a same-sex couple coupled with childcare better in the three years older The Goddess of Fortune (also Italian) – but Marco Simon Puccioni’s film is not entirely generic. I was intrigued by the ideas of making a documentary about fathers (which then quickly fizzles out) and the confused brother of the girl the protagonist was in love with. Of the two main storylines – Paolo's partnership crisis and Simone/Leone's first love – the former appealed to me more and I appreciated the ending. All in all, a better three stars! ()
