Returner is an endearingly naïve cross between The Terminator, Independence Day, E.T., The Matrix and Mission: Impossible II. The film doesn’t lack a sense of detachment and is lightened up with some pleasant humor, but unfortunately it is also funny in the moments when it’s pretending to be completely serious. But you can’t be angry about that. Its creator is like a small child who loves big American sci-fi action movies and made his dream come true. If you liked Equilibrium, you’ll be OK with this. ()
