For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few too many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers... permanently. There's only one problem: even the best-laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. (Roadshow Entertainment)

Excellent comedy, in which everyone literally shines, from the central trio of employees, through the trio of devilish bosses, to the supporting roles of famous actors. However, one thing I must, really must emphasize. Although all the actors are excellent, Kevin Spacey still stands out above all and absolutely brilliantly portrayed a total asshole. ()
Finally, an American comedy that's a little raunchy and cheeky—something that feels like a rare find these days. What makes this one special is the trio of Bateman, Day, and Sudeikis, who I immediately loved. Add to that an unbelievably seductive Jennifer Aniston, a brutally sharp Kevin Spacey, a perpetually high Colin Farrell, and of course, Jamie Foxx as the token wild card, plus a laid-back Donald Sutherland. The star-studded cast is almost too good to be true, but everyone’s clearly having a blast, and I had just as much fun watching them. ()
I know it could have been better, less awkwardly painful and not so over the top in places, but I still enjoyed myself royally. And the important thing here aren’t the three idiots who want to kill their bosses (Charlie Day was the most annoying and his motive was the weirdest of all), but the bosses themselves. Colin Farrell is such a total jerk here that I was disappointed he didn’t appear in more scenes. Kevin Spacey is also irresistible in his role of evil psychopath keenly feeding on people like a parasite. And last but not least, we have Jennifer Anniston in one of the best roles of her career. Personally I have no idea why that cretin wanted to kill her. After all, she was so into it (and her role). A lot of the minor roles a pleasing, obvious references to The Wire (Bunk and Cutty) and the excellent Jamie Foxx. It really is a shame, someone more capable could have gotten more out of this topic. The cast would have been perfect for it. ()
Horrible Bosses has a quite original primary idea, but the execution was unfortunately average, which is a pity, because the potential was there. The cast wasn't bad at all, but it just lacked something. All in all, a nice and unpretentious film that didn't entertain me as much as I originally thought it would, but then again, it didn't offend me either. ()
A good comedy is a concept that is gradually fading, but lately, I feel that as soon as you put Jason Bateman in a comedy, it turns out to be quite successful. For me personally, Horrible Bosses was definitely a success because I really laughed a lot. The trio of employees has truly terrible bosses. One has a female boss who not only flirts with him sexually but openly challenges him to have sex. One might wonder why the fool resists when the woman is Jennifer Aniston, who has a pretty decent figure, but the boy is in love with someone else and wants to be faithful. The second guy thought he would be promoted, but instead, he gets a new boss, the idiotic son of the former boss who unfortunately passed away. And the third guy has a real maniac for a boss with Kevin Spacey’s face, one of those bosses who wouldn’t hesitate to kill someone just for looking at him the wrong way. These guys hire a professional who tells them how to handle their situation - they have to carry out the act themselves. The film is full of funny situations and interesting twists that can be quite shocking at times. It’s not a film that will leave you excited for months or have you constantly wanting to talk about it, but it’s one that will greatly enhance one evening, and you’ll go to sleep knowing you had a good time.
