Red Ice. Tale of Ugra Hunts

Film is based upon true events and tells about the rebellion of hunts against Soviet power in the area of the river Kazym in the beginning of 30s of the 20th century. The action starts before the revolution, by the wedding of the local orthodox priest, Vera with one of the hunts. Her truly beloved, Ilya doesn't come in time for the wedding and leaves the village Bogostavlenka... In the 30s, being already an experienced commander, Ilya come back to his native land in charge of Red Army troop. A brigade of reindeer herders is founded in the village, which is headed by the chairman Chukhnovsky. When the order to fight against "worshipers" comes from the center, Chukhnovksy and his people destroys ancient sanctuary on the saint island. Hunts from Bogostavlenka become camping-ground in the turn of Kazym, and soon they are followed by hunts from other villages. Then Ilya gets the order to lead his troops against the rebellions.
