Imprisonned for three years after an armed robery, Ben gets out of prison where he converted to Islam. His only wish is to reconnect with his son Sami. Only to find that Samir stopped waiting for him a while ago and Nadia, his ex-wife, does not trust him. Mustapha, his new "master of thought", encourages him to believe that he will never find his place in society, and exacerbate his feeling of injustice. Ben is trying to follow the lifestyle rules imposed by Mustapha when he meets Lucie, who is no help at making him stick to them. From working to rehabilitate to small repeat offenses, Ben struggles to resist to his feeling of hatred in order to rekindle with his son and get his dignity as a free man back.
