It's incredible how much quality Polish cinema holds. Johnny is yet another gem with a profoundly human story and outstanding performances by Dawid Ogrodnik (especially him) and Piotr Trojan, who seem to have made a deal with the devil for their talent. The film is a mix of deeply human, sad, funny, hopeful, and sincere storytelling about two completely different people brought together by fate. The fact that it's based on a true story? Not surprising for Polish films. Either Poland is filled with incredibly heartfelt human stories, or their screenwriters have a knack for writing like no one else in the world. Father Jan Kaczkowski, by the way, was an incredible guy! ()
