Cinemaggedon stuff. A now semi-forgotten genre flick with a casino robbery theme. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's all half-assed, forgettable, mediocre. The set-up is uninteresting, it actually takes more than half an hour for the thieves to say they're going to do it, the robbery plan itself is not very sophisticated (compared to the vast majority of its genre contemporaries), only the unusual ending warms the heart. The main takeaway is that Joan Collins was a really pretty woman in her younger days before her career took a nosedive and ended up in Bert I. Gordon's films, and that Rod Steiger looked 55 at 35 :o) And if you’re in the mood for a heist movie, better check out Ocean's Eleven from the same year, it's much more interesting. ()
