Her family having fallen into poverty, Gara Janka has to take a job in a toy factory. Her father has, to small avail, plans to do forestry, while her brother, a mechanical engineer, is still out of work. Janka pretends, with the assistance of Didó, her friend, to have suffered a car accident, which first gets her some medical help then a job on the Lombs' estate. Brigi, the landowner's son, is a debauchee and an idler. Step by step, Janka has all her family working on the estate, and she even makes Brigi start working. They start a joint venture, getting both families out of both their temporal as well as permanent difficulties. Brigi and Janka become a couple. (official distributor synopsis)
