God's Neighbors

The film depicts an Israeli suburb where law and order is protected by three friends who fiercely fight to maintain time-proven religious morals. Most arguments are settled with violence in this small neighbourhood, where even loud music can result in a bloody street brawl. However, when one of the friends falls in love with a local girl, he realizes that truth and law are not necessarily one-sided. The film, which received numerous awards including SEAD at Cannes festival, focuses on the topic of religious fundamentalism with its violence and strict hierarchy. (Febiofest)
