The life of a sub-proletarian boy in Rome through the Seventies and Eighties, choosing his own path with his lifetimes friends and family. Ernesto is a simple man who tries to follow his ambitions without ever losing the true values of life. Together with his best friend Giacinto the audience may relive the crucial phases in the history of Italy from the 1970s to today. With an always careful and ironic look at the vices and virtues of Italy and the Italians, Giovanni Veronesi gives us a new choral comedy focused on the normal and at the same time exceptional vicissitudes of a hero of our times. The pleasantly flowing story on the border between comedy and drama, adorned with a fresh soundtrack and a likable cast, caught my attention so much that I'd be crazy to rate this film as average. (70%) ()
