English A Kačka-ston dance, a cheese race and hammering shoes with salami, a detective investigation, an undercover staff member in a pub and helping someone get into their coat... Although The Loves of Kačenka Strnadová is not as good as The Lovers of an Old Criminal and is rather on the level of Falešná kočička (only with the long book and damaging runtime), Vlasta Burian made me enjoy myself (at times) for the third time as if it was a film with sound. Of course, I prefer to hear him and when the poor guy doesn't have to roll his eyes so hard, but it's still fun. Good fun. ()

English Given that it’s one of the very few Czech silent films on DVD, it’s quite a disappointment. Because given that there are only two Burians alongside Eroticon, the dramaturgy is highly undeveloped and only having more and more films could help out in this regard. Anything from Weteb or Kalos would be great. On the other hand, outside of Burian fans, nobody expected a miracle from The Loves of Kačenka Strnadová, but it's simply the adequate combination of Innemann, Kavková, and Burian. Meaning that it’s pleasant, rural, and substantial. However, they could have waited until more interesting films paved the way. ()
