Plots(1)
A lonely Chicago token collector (Sandra Bullock) pines for a handsome commuter (Peter Gallagher). When she saves his life after a mugging that leaves him comatose, she's mistaken for his fiancee. Playing along, she instead falls in love with her "fiancee's" brother (Bill Pullman), thus setting in motion a decidedly bizarre love triangle. (Showtime)

It's routine and therefore predictable, and overly sweetened, but it has one huge advantage, and that is Sandra Bullock in the main role. Lucy is certainly not at all inconspicuous because she is portrayed by a charming movie star, so in real life she would probably be quite a hassle as a partner, but we are in the realm of a naive fairy tale for lovers, and within this genre, this film is rather above-average. I can imagine going to the movie theater to see this film if I had the motivation of a pleasant partner, and that I wouldn't particularly suffer while I was in there. However, it has a long way to go to reach the genre's peaks, such as Love Actually, and it lacks a greater quantity of humor, better casting of supporting roles, and better-written characters around the main couple. These characters are either unremarkable or even annoying. Overall impression: 45%. ()
