This year has definitely been the year of Italian cinema for me. Time and time again, Italian films have shown me they’re not all about yelling and fiery temperaments. Take Rose Island, for example—not a single over-the-top shouting scene. Instead, it’s a well-executed film with a great concept and some breathtaking moments. The best part? Right at the start, when the main character discovers how to create his own world while driving the track at Imola, all set to Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe." That’s when I knew I was watching something special. While the film had its ups and downs, overall, it was an impressive and memorable experience. ()
