Thomas Cross, ein junger Hacker aus London, wird auf virtuellem Besuch bei Cathy, der I-Net-Hure aus Amsterdam voller Entsetzen Zeuge, wie ein Unbekannter das Mädchen vor laufender Webcam abschlachtet. Weil er zuvor einen Firewall überwand, hält ihn Interpool wenn schon nicht für den Täter, dann doch zumindest für einen gefährlichen Mitwisser, was Cross veranlasst, auf eigene Faust Nachforschungen anzustellen. Gemeinsam mit seiner Helferin, einer französischen Polizistin, stößt er mitten in ein Cyber-Wespennest. (Verleiher-Text)

An awfully mediocre crime movie that aspires to being something like Amenábar’s Thesis or 8mm, but merely scrapes the surface and lacks any hint of atmosphere and not even the very routine screenplay is interesting; the actors are pretty bland and come across like they’re thinking “just another ten minutes to go, so I’ll last out for this scene and I can go home at last", and that applies even to Ejiofor and Furlong, who are usually great. Despite that, you will suffer no harm if you watch it, because in the same way that it has no great positive points, it also has no extremely negative points and is instantly forgettable.
