Over the next half-century, he became one of 19th-century Great Britain's greatest politicians. After much work, Disraeli finally won a seat in Parliament when he was 32, and was nearly laughed out of the House on his first day. Although his first speech was poorly received, Disraeli threw himself into politicking with a passion, and quickly rose through the ranks of British government until he became Prime Minister - having not only finally won the respect of his nation, but the adoration of his Queen.
