The Bang Bang Club

I’ve seen a few films about war photographers, but this one definitely left more of an impact than others like Shell Shock. It’s hard to pin down exactly what sets Bang Bang Club apart, but there’s something about the way it tells a raw, honest story of these photographers who won multiple Pulitzer Prizes for their work. It dives deep into the emotions behind those iconic photos that went around the world, and it doesn't shy away from the intense feelings a war photographer has to deal with—and there are plenty of those. The setting in South Africa is incredibly immersive, and the story itself really pulls you in. The whole film has a gripping atmosphere that left me just sitting there, staring at the screen, jaw dropped. (16.12.2011)
