Way of a Gaucho

Martin Penalosa – alias Val Verde – kills a man in duel. Sentenced to military service, he deserts from the brutal command of Major Salinas. Gathering a band of gauchos, he fights against oppression. He falls in love with an aristocratic woman and they decide to flee together. Salinas leaves the army, but searches relentlessly for the deserter. (Locarno Festival)
