Biografía (2)
Creció en Kansas City, Missouri, y se graduó en Relaciones Internacionales en la Universidad de Virginia en 1991. Dos semanas después de su graduación se fue a Polonia con el Cuerpo de Paz de los Estados Unidos y pasó allí dos años en un pequeño pueblo cercano a la frontera con Ucrania.
