András, 38, sets out for Cracow by car. His family thinks that he makes business trips to Cracow, but in fact, his lover lives there, pregnant, and is awaiting Andris for their wedding. The wealthy, successful businessman, co-owner of bakeries, is an artist in Cracow, and works on a church fresco with Beata. His double life is only known to his partner Zoli, who covers his friend, though anxious about him. Also his wife has a secret relationship with her young boss, who urges her to divorce. András by chance phones his uncle Jules from his car, who he has not talked to for 27 years, gives a lift to a mysterious hitchhiker, who seems to know everything about him, and then, the brakes fail, and he is unable to stop the car. Two years later, Beata shows to her son his father's self-portrait on the fresco in the church. (Budapest Film)
