A survival drama with a beautifully appropriate running time, where I see the nature and the underwater shots in the introduction as a plus – though it was disappointing that there were no sharks. In general the film was tame in terms of gore, and there could have been a lot of it when the Doctor came in. There's often a price to pay for being foolish, as the four protagonists here soon learn. It's not that the film lacks tension in the last third, but Kaya is a downright moron, and that annoyed me terribly. At some points I even wished she'd get over it. It was very disappointing that the shark didn't come into view when looking at the blue sky and the red circle. And maybe an addendum about the shops wouldn't have mattered, though the viewer can make assumptions. Weaker 3*, but OK for one viewing. ()
“Be spontaneous!” These are lines just before death (Good from the right. That’ll keep me going.), and lines that are further from it but still aim for the same outcome. And now imagine a familiar Monty Python exchange: “...it says ‘In the event of death’ - ‘Nobody who's ever had their liver taken out by us has survived...’” Often more of a nature documentary (fish, seagull, turtle, camel toe), but it’s fairly engaging due to its authenticity, which makes even the length of the tribute to the United States Coast Guard absorbable. I don’t want to play at being a swimming instructor, but those trophies in the main character’s room weren’t for freestyle, were they? ()
