Bedő Anna, the designer, meets the middle-aged architect, Elekes István, who has been secretly fond of the lonely, serious girl for a long time. On Christmas Eve, Anna picks up a young man about to commit suicide at the Danube embankment and takes him home. Miklós is a sculptor but has no job. Anna wants to help the young man and she asks the wealthy Elekes to be a client. Both men love the girl. Elekes intends to marry her and he orders her portrait by Miklós. The sculptor sees his desperate situation and attempts to commit suicide again. On the Danube embankment, he meets Anna who chooses him as her husband. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
