In Hungary, people over 70 are entitled to unlimited free travel on public transportation and the domestic lines of the Hungarian Railways. A few lonely and homeless old men have found regular shelter in a railway compartment. That is where Balogh, a one time teacher, Szikszai, the one-time violin-player, the womaniser Bozsó, as well as the always boastful Károlyi, living on the contents of garbage-bins, spend their nights by travelling to and fro the line. This time they are joined by an old man who has stolen his grandchild in order to revenge himself on his selfish family, as well as a well-dressed elderly gentleman. The latter was no longer willing to stand the humiliation he had to suffer from the postman, and he wants to complete the murder he had committed by suicide, to be performed on the train. Yet for the living, the dawning day is full of promise. The teacher is found by his one-time students, and they take him away to themselves. Szikszai finally makes up his mind to turn to the trade union for help. Bozsó hopes to be able to sell off the forged gold necklace, while Károlyi prepares for the night and hopes to empty the garbage-bins in the wealthy neighbourhood earlier than the official garbage collectors. Only the old man left his grandchild on the train by accident. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
