Sinopsis(1)

Kalli, a young boy who is brought up by a single mother in the suburbs of Reykjavik, thrives in the world of imaginary characters, in a world where he gets most of his life experiences through screens: movies, television shows, and computers. When he is sent to spend Christmas with his father and his father´s new family, far up north at a remote and isolated farm, the story takes him out of that world and puts him in one where he has to fight "real life" challanges. inglés The film is primarily intended for school-aged children, let's say between 7 and 13 years old, and it has a slight overlap with the realm of family movies. Although the film contains a ghost motif, it is not important. What matters is the confrontation of a value system and the behavior of a city boy moved to an inhospitable wilderness. At the same time, it is a conflict and reconciliation between two children of different personalities and genders. The camera does not fully utilize all the possibilities that Icelandic nature offers, but it is still worth watching. It has a pleasantly short duration, and the acting performances and direction are without apparent flaws. Although Icelandic cinema had seven noteworthy films last year, for me, every encounter with this somewhat exotic work is a rarity. Overall impression: 55%. ()
