This film elaborates the last days of the Chilean president, Salvador Allende and background of the coup d'état against the republic. It is based on documentary materials, but works with fictitious characters. The Chilean reactionary forces, supported by the CIA organise a coup d'état based on military provocation, under the cover-name of "Centaurs". An immediate assistant of the President, the communist chief of police, Orlando, finds an organiser of the action, whom, however, the infiltrated soldiers kill at once. The President doubts the authenticity of Orlando's information and still trusts his army's loyalty. Due to provocation, however, he has to replace more and more of his immediate colleagues, including Orlando and the Minister of War. Headed by General Pin, the senior officers of the junta, which was founded to overthrow the republic, infiltrate his staff. (jakelijan virallinen teksti)
