englanti I’m sincerely unable to understand how this film has managed to receive relatively positive reviews abroad. A naively presented, badly acted and blandly directed piece of crap where the two main characters compete on who is more irritating. It goes nowhere interesting at all, the scary scenes don’t work and the competition for the least likeable horror heroine has hereby finished already in February. ()

englanti The Canadian production Still/Born does not stand out in any major way. The subject matter and execution are not original, even though they are still well made enough to be interesting. However, it is dynamic and builds well. Sure, if you have seen a few horror movies like this one, it will not grab you and is probably not even going to entertain you. However, if you watch it after you have not seen a similar film in a while, you should enjoy it. ()

englanti I don't know what it was, and I definitely don't intend to defend Still/Born, but for me, it fit quite nicely in line with the mood and circumstances. Paradoxically, despite a very mixed evaluation, I must state that this film really is nothing exceptional. Actually, yes, it has an exceptionally unsympathetic main actress, whom you feel like slapping across the face several times during the runtime, but then suddenly you actually start to like how she plays the part, as it begins to hit the mark quite well. Perhaps due to those controversial reviews, this Canadian piece somehow clicked with me like a puzzle, and even the scare tactics didn't bother me at all. Of course, I'm overrating it, and I see it more as a weak four because it just doesn't make me angry. It's predictably as a pig, and there have been many similar pieces before, but Still/Born is unique in its strange atmosphere and a certain disorderliness, standing somewhat out in a different category.
