Ole Bornedal

Film producer and owner of Thura Film, Michael Obel, celebrated his 25th anniversary in 2005. He has produced over 20 feature films and a range of tv-productions and commercial films. Ole Bornedal's psychological thriller Nightwatch gave Michael Obel his international brake through as producer. The award winning film was selected for the Semaine de la Critique at Cannes Film Festival in 1994 and nominated for the prize Caméra d'Or. Since then, Michael Obel has been the producer behind successful films like Old Men in New Cars, On Our Own, The Serbian Dane, My Sister's Kids and the TV-series Charlot & Charlotte. Michael Obel and Thura Film have found it's own very unique position in Danish film and has to a considerable extent been agenda setting in the Danish film milieu. Thura Film has given the chance to many talented directors, including Ole Bornedal, Bille August, Anders Thomas Jensen, and Thomas Villum Jensen.
