Honestly, my only regret here is that the film wasn’t longer. A bit more runtime would’ve allowed the filmmakers to dive deeper into the story and, more importantly, avoid the rushed ending that kind of spoiled what was, up until then, a solid viewing experience. Even though I figured out who the villain was and their motive fairly early on, I have to give credit to the psychological tension they built throughout. For a short, hour-long film from a bygone era, this one kept me surprisingly engaged and could easily hold its own against many of today’s crime thrillers. Sure, modern films might look flashier, but the plot here had more substance than some of the visually saturated but narratively weak ones we get today. The story was decent, and I could even overlook the appearance of those "disposable" characters, but that rushed conclusion really let it down. If not for that, I might’ve given it an extra star. / Lesson learned: What’s the point of making elaborate plans if your actions are completely counterproductive? 3*+ ()
