Co je platno kázat

Eduard Bass clearly drew inspiration from his own experiences in this story, portraying the troubles of his friend whose love blinded him to reality and reason. The infatuated young man fails to perceive the truth and decides to uplift a frivolous dancer and prostitute through education and upbringing. The television adaptation is quite lenient towards his efforts but unfortunately overly prolonged, as it would benefit from being about a third shorter. The most intriguing aspect is likely the participation of the young Milena Steinmasslová, who brought temperament and spark to her character. Overall impression: 55%. (02/11/2013)
