A mix of romance, drama, adventure, and music, CAPTAIN CAUTION details the adventures of an American vessel, the Olive Branch, on its way home carrying a valuable cargo. Suddenly the ship is hijacked by the British who use it as a prison ship. When the captain of the Olive Branch dies, young sailor Mature takes command of the ship and of a romance with feisty sailorette Platt. Eventually the Americans are rescused by Osborn and sent on their way. The film earned an Oscar nomination for Best Sound. Look hard and fast for Alan Ladd in a minor role.
