Preacher - Série 1

Season 1 had a number of weak moments, but I quickly got over them and focused on enjoying the good ones, of which there were thankfully quite a few. The series mixes brutal gore with comedy bordering on farce, bringing in two underground angels, a friendly vampire who’s really into booze and opiates, a preacher with a dark past, and the inhabitants of a small town which I would really hate to find myself in. The season was only slightly above average in my view, but not completely underwhelming either. I'll definitely watch the next one. (11/09/2017)

As someone not very familiar with comics, I didn't have too high expectations, so I kind of thought it would be a nice, surface-level slaughter in the Rogen/Goldberg style with many WTF moments. The pilot episode did fairly well in ratings, although personally it didn't impress me much, and since then it served up better or average episodes and only one perfect one. Unlike others, I was never against the preacher Cooper himself, so in that respect I'm fine, but I absolutely rooted the most for Tulip, who became my favorite character. Overall, I will happily return for the second season (especially since it's not airing during the main TV series season), even though we will likely be introduced to new characters again... 7/10 (18/08/2016)
