Woody Allen a racheté un film d'espionnage japonais et a remplacé les voix par la sienne et celles de ses amis sans trop se soucier de l'histoire originale (la recherche d'une machine cryptographique). Il devient le précurseur de ce que sera le phénomène Grand Détournement et signe ici sa première folie. Ainsi, Phil Moskowitz se lance à la recherche d'une recette de salade d'oeufs durs. The idea of cutting and redubbing foreign footage is a million dollar idea. Woody Allen may have come up with it first, but unfortunately, just about everyone who came after him was more successful. Perhaps it was the lack of anything other than the initial idea, perhaps it was studio interference, perhaps it was the repetition of jokes, or that they awkwardly alternate between the childish and the seamy... but What's Up, Tiger Lily? is now almost unwatchable. ()
