Tartalmak(1)

Inkább szembefordul a démonokkal. (InterCom)

angol This franchise is pretty stale already. The decent craftsmanship keeps it watchable, but otherwise it's a show of creative confusion and futility - we've seen it all, we know it all. ()

angol Insidious: The Red Door is certainly not the top of the franchise and we can't even talk about a breakthrough sequel, but the film will reach the golden average. I'm a bit disappointed with the first half, where not much happens and its pace is so slow that I wondered if something was finally going to happen or if Patrick WIlson in the director's chair was fucking with us, but the second half saves the result and from the moment the "red door" appears on the screen there's already something to watch. The heart-attack inducing scares are in high cadence and work great, but on the other hand there's not much atmosphere to speak of, and likewise, the advancement in the plot of the whole series or the detailed explanation of previous episodes is nil, which is quite a shame. If someone wanted me to define mediocre, unambitious, happy medium, I'd call it Insidious 5, because that's exactly what this film is. It holds the viewer's attention thanks to the second half, but don't expect anything more than a classic horror movie, it's just as if Wilson is afraid to break out of the conventional mold and take a chance, this is just a safe bet. angol The 5th episode of Insidious is surprisingly the most financially profitable of the series, so it might not be the last, but qualitatively it is the weakest. The 4th episode wasn't worth much and this one is on a similar level. Once James Wan got away from the franchise, the quality went down significantly (I'd rather see another Conjuring or Crooked Man). The direction this time was taken by debutant Patrick Wilson, one of the leads, so you can’t expect miracles from an inexperienced man. Plot-wise, I wasn't too interested, there are a few scares, but they're cheesy and didn't work for me. The creepy and dark atmosphere has almost disappeared, the camera games and sound effects weren’t impressive, there's a lack of interesting ideas. In short, this episode didn't bring anything new, just a recycling of what I've seen. On the plus side, the craftsmanship is good, so in this dearth of ghost stories, at least on a good technical level, this is sufficient, but at the same time unnecessary. 5/10. ()

angol The sixth installment of the most boring horror series, whose only added value is that Ty Simpkins, probably unknowingly, looks like Brandon Lee in some places. ()

angol It was clear that the Insidious universe is irreversibly lost in its quality already in the previous installment, and I gave only a small percentage of chance to this new piece under Wilson's baton for its resurrection. Unfortunately, as expected, it really didn't work out. Therefore, my intuition not to go to the cinema was correct because it would be a waste of money in today's times. At least it was interesting to watch the now mature character of the son and know that he was not replaced by someone similar, so even the flashbacks nicely corresponded. Who would have thought that it's been thirteen years since I was almost scared to death by the first installment. However, neither the story nor the horror side works at all. Of course, we parasitize on past traumas, so the motives that we have seen many times before are not spared. Not even Wilson or Byrne can save it anymore. Maybe I was scared twice, but I'm starting to become allergic to how these new additions are terribly forgettable. In a few days, I won't even know who it is. ()
