Two retiring show people start up a New England country inn with the unique and, one would think, self-defeating idea of being open only on national holidays; however, in this delightful fluff-fest, they achieve instantaneous success. Conflicts arise when they fall for the same woman, and sparks fly -as do their feet - in a variety of inventive, holiday themed song-and-dance productions. (officiële tekst van distribiteur)

Engels A very pleasant spectacle, with just the right amount of everything, which (mainly) American viewers can watch at almost any time of the year thanks to the many holidays it contains. The interplay between Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire is a joy to behold, and although the two best scenes (the drunken dance and the song about Abraham Lincoln) come fairly early on, Holiday Inn has plenty to offer after them. Like dancing with firecrackers or ending with a movie within a movie. But it could have been shorter, yes... Three and a half. ()
