Fatih Akin will probably never leave my TOP 10 directors list for his unmatched Gegen die Wand, even if I never like anything else from him. Maybe influenced by the immense power of the experience from Gegen die Wand, I didn't want to delve into his other films for a long time. I tried the light summer comedy In July, which confirmed to me that Akin is a huge talent and besides total despair and bizarre humor, he is capable of shooting a relaxed and humorous road movie with incredibly young Bleibtreu and cute Paul. The melancholic in me screams for another Gegen die Wand, the extrovert happily purrs at Im Juli. Bis bald, Fatih :-) (08.01.2015)
