"If you ever find yourself in a fight to the death, take my advice: Go for the throat," says Harry. It's a dog beat dog world out there after the latest financial crisis, and those who were bloodthirsty in their quest for making money are now looking for a new sport in the Irish film TRADERS. When the company Harry (Killian Scott) and Vernon (John Bradley from Game of Thrones) work for loses billions in the stock market and goes belly-up, the friends are just two out of a throng of unemployed former businessmen looking for ways to continue their standard of living. Vernon, ever the enterpriser, concocts an idea: two people meet anonymously, bring their life's savings, and fight to the death—winner takes all; these participants are known as Traders. Not since "Fight Club" has such an allegory for the anger in how the world's financial industry gets away with murder been played out with such blows. Deftly shot mixing brutality with humor, TRADERS is an engaging and confident punch to the throat. (Cleveland International Film Festival)

Engels At the beginning, it didn't impress me much, and it couldn't grab me right away, but in the end, it turned out to be a film that has an idea, that tries to convey something, and even though it doesn't have the means to be action-packed, it doesn't try to, and it's mainly about looking quite realistic. Which worked. A disturbing film about how money can be made. ()
