As a father of two children, I can confirm that the idea of having to outlive one's offspring is terrible. It is a parental nightmare that, if it does happen, often leads to alienation and painful separation of partners. Although this German film does not have a star-studded cast, top-notch direction, or an interesting script, it knows how to handle the theme of losing a loved one, and as an intimate drama, it works without any major issues. Perhaps only actress Andrea Sawatzki, who plays the main role, didn't sit well with me; her character seemed more annoying than the director probably intended and expected. Overall impression: 75%. ()
