In a grim future America, Maggie (Bridget Fonda), a beautiful young street punk, is about to be executed for killing a cop during a robbery, and is given the choice between death or becoming a government assassin. She accepts the latter and is trained in all manner of martial (and feminine) arts. She ably carries out her deadly assignments, and is groomed to become a powerful killer. Maggie is given a new identity, becomes the seductive Claudia, and is sent to Venice, California, where she begins her new life. But the training takes only too well: the formerly amoral murderess proceeds to fall in love with a photographer (Dermot Mulroney) and develop a conscience. Now she wants out, but the government isn't about to let her go without a fight. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)

There are films that you simply and easily fall in love with, even if you don't really know why. I want the 1990s back with its typical romanticism, heroes with their hearts in the right place, great action, ordinary stories, and its unique and unmistakable electronic and rock music. ()
A remake of Besson’s cult movie La Femme Nikita by Hollywood craftsman John Badham. If I hadn’t known the original, Point of No Return would have come across as a standard Hollywood action flick with an interesting subject. But since I do know it, this version instead seems like a poor imitation of the great original with no sign of its creative touch. My three-star rating is only a compromise for those who haven’t seen Besson’s classic. ()
